About Me
I am an Assistant Professor of Computer Science and Software Engineering at Miami University. Prior to joining Miami University, I was an Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity program at UTRGV. I obtained my Ph.D. in the Department of Computer Science under supervision of Professor Xiuzhen Cheng at the George Washington University (GWU).
My research journey began with privacy preservation in data publishing using differential privacy. It has since evolved to encompass both data and model privacy and security in the context of deep learning and large language models (LLMs). I investigate a wide range of existing privacy and security threats—including membership inference, prompt injection, and model inversion attacks—as well as robust and effective defense mechanisms. In addition, my work spans diverse computational environments, including varied network architectures, federated learning settings, edge computing, and complex cyber-physical systems.
